Wanderburg Beginner Guide

You command a castle on wheels. Drive into villages and herds to devour them, grow your fort, stack weapons on its hull and fight your way through four boss strongholds per map. Between runs, Silver buys permanent unlocks that keep expanding what a run can do.

Your first run

1. Learn to steer with momentum — the castle is heavy; turning takes time, so start turns early and use boost (Nitro) to escape or reposition.
2. Devour everything small — villages, herds and small castles make you bigger, which raises your survivability and what you can eat next.
3. Mount modules on all three faces — front, sides and rear. Weapons only fire toward the face they are mounted on, so cover your flanks.
4. Keep one weapon type upgraded — spreading upgrades across many modules dilutes power; specialised damage clears villages and bosses faster.
5. Save Nitro for the fourth boss — boss gauntlets escalate; community reports recommend keeping boost for the final stronghold fight.
6. Spend Silver between runs — unlocking modules and captains is the meta progression that powers later runs.

Beginner tips

• Eating does not heal you in the base game — healing comes from health pickups and certain crews; verify current behaviour in your build.
• Bosses, cities, harvesters and mortar towers cannot be devoured — destroy them with weapons.
• Positioning beats raw firepower: circle enemies so side cannons keep firing instead of driving straight.
• Third-party numbers (costs, stats, tier lists) are often from pre-patch builds — always check the patch version.
