Wanderburg Cannon Build: Modules, Order & Upgrades
A cannon build stacks both Side positions with cannons, levels them to 10 to unlock the Front Cannon, adds a Cannon Tower on top, and leans on the Lead Core artifact so cannonballs knock enemies back. It is the highest-burst build in the game against strongholds.
Core package
| Slot | Module | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Side | Cannons (both sides) | Main damage; level to 10 for the Front Cannon unlock |
| Front | Front Cannon | Long-range punch on the axis you are driving into |
| Top | Cannon Tower | Extra focused damage and knockback |
| Back | Mine Layer or Dash | Cover the rear while you reposition |
Upgrade order
- Level both Side Cannons first — level 10 is the unlock route to the Front Cannon.
- Take every cannon-damage and cooldown upgrade you are offered.
- Add the Cannon Tower on top once the side cannons are online.
- Pick up Lead Core — cannonballs gain knockback, which is what makes the build safe.
- Only then add crew or utility modules.
Captain and positioning
Patchy the Pirate rewards a cannon setup directly; Racer Ruth is the alternative when you keep getting trapped. Positioning matters more than the stat sheet: hold a broadside only as long as it is cheap, then break off, because enemy cannon fire can delete a large chunk of HP while you sit still. See Captains Tier List.
FAQ
Common questions about this topic.
How do I build cannons in Wanderburg?
Fill both Side positions with cannons, level them to 10 to unlock the Front Cannon, add a Cannon Tower on top, and take the Lead Core artifact for knockback.
What is the best artifact for a cannon build?
Community reports single out Lead Core, which gives cannonballs knockback and makes holding a broadside far safer.
Which Captain suits cannons?
Patchy the Pirate is the cannon specialist; Racer Ruth is the mobility alternative.
Is a cannon build good against bosses?
Yes — it has the highest burst against strongholds, but it needs positioning discipline because sitting still is what kills cannon builds.
